Dr. Uche Mbanaso

Research Associate, LINK Centre  

LINK Research Associate Dr. Uche Mbanaso is an Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Centre for Cyberspace Studies (CCS) at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.

Mbanaso was a central player in the drafting of Nigeria's National Cybersecurity Strategy and Policy of 2015 and its Cybercrimes Act of 2015, as well as several other elements of the country's cybersecurity framework. Prior to joining Nasarawa State University, Mbanaso worked in the public sector for 25 years on information and communication technology (ICT) matters.

Mbanaso earned his undergraduate qualification in Electronic and Communications Engineering in Nigeria, and both an MSc in Information Technology and a PhD in Information and Communications Security in the UK. He has delivers frequent papers to conferences, workshops and seminars, and has published several articles, on cyberspace themes and operational intelligence matters.

Mbanaso serves on the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), and is a member of ISACA (US), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) US, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) UK, the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), and the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
