Thabiso Thukani is a seasoned technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) professional with nearly two decades of industry experience in Sub-Saharan Africa. His experience spans network design and modernisation, systems integration, solutions architecture, technology strategy, and policy and regulation.
Thukani has led engagements with national and regional policy bodies in broadband for all, ICT for development (ICT4D), data privacy and security, and spectrum management. He has also served as Rapporteur in national and regional preparatory working groups for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRCs); and as Convener for industry interest groups in African Telecommunications Union (ATU) WRC regional preparatory meetings.
Thukani holds a Master’s in ICT Policy and Regulation from Wits, and a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Central University of Technology (CUT), Bloemfontein. His current research interests fall within the broad policy and regulatory environment with respect to the evolving digital economy.
