Bleeding Disorders Research Unit

Director: Professor Johnny Mahlangu

The unit receives referrals with unknown bleeding diatheses from Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West provinces. Confirmed diagnoses include congenital haemophilia, von Willebrand’s disease, acquired haemophilia, platelet disorders, amongst others. On-going research in the unit includes clinical trials, investigator-initiated collaborative research projects and postgraduate research.
