As we continue to learn more about state capture, it has become clear that the process was wide-spread, complex and involved not just individuals but well-known organisations. Rebuilding South Africa requires addressing past failures, and implementing new measures to ensure this never happens again. An important component of a reliable state is having effective and trustworthy auditors to oversee how public money is used.
