The Developmental Units are based at the 3 Academic hospitals attached to the University of the Witwatersrand, namely: Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital
In-patient: consultations and telephonic advice to regional hospitals
Outpatient :This forms the largest part of the service:Clinics include :

1. General Developmental clinics
2. Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinics and ADOS multidisciplinary assessments
3.  HIE clinic / Neonatal Neurodevelopmental Clinic
4. Multidisciplinary Visual Impairment clinic
5. Multidisciplinary Cerebral Palsy assessment clinic with Orthopaedic Surgeons and Physiotherapists
6. School clinics: ADHD and Learning disabilities
7. Outreach multidisciplinary clinics to South Rand Hospital and Edenvale Hospital
