The Department of Neurosciences is a clinical department within the School of Clinical Medicine, comprising four specialist divisions:
- Neurology – Headed by Associate Professor Andre Mochan
- Neurosurgery – Headed by Associate Professor Chris Profyris
- Ophthalmology – Headed by Adjunct Professor Aubrey Makgotloe
- Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) – Headed by Associate Professor Shivesh Maharaj
The Department is led by Associate Professor Susan Williams, supported by Ms Junia Mthombeni.
The Department plays a central role in undergraduate medical education, registrar training and specialist development, and postgraduate research
