Miranda Wolhuter (nee Crous) (BSc Physiotherapy, 1962)

She established her own practice in Florida, Roodepoort in 1965 after the birth of her son. Miranda s son, Fred Swanepoel (MBA, 1995) was featured in the WITS Review after his appointment as Chief Information Officer at Nedbank in 2008. All three of Miranda s siblings are Wits alumni. These include her brothers, Timo Crous (BCom, 1964) and Gustav Crous (BSc Eng 1960) and sister Beulah Stander (diplomas in nursing education and administration, 1971 and 1978). Furthermore, Miranda s husband, Louis, a retired geologist, worked closely with the Wits School of Geology and the Bernard Price Institute during his time at the CSIR. "I am very proud to be connected to Wits in so many ways," says Miranda. Today, she continues to practice physiotherapy from her home in Robin Hills, Johannesburg.
