The University of Dundee in Scotland and the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa have come together to explore opportunities for collaboration in the areas of drug development and novel drug delivery platforms.  Both universities have a strong basic and translational research programs that are highly innovative and complimentary. In 2021, Dundee was the number one university in the UK Research Excellence Framework in life sciences and has particular expertise in growing companies in the life sciences. Wits is a leading University on the African continent with a major focus on solving health challenges through the development of new drugs and vaccines.
