Structure your degree

BSc Honours degrees carry a total of 120 credit points.

These credit points are divided between independent research and coursework. For many of the BSc Honours programmes in the Science Faculty, there are a number of choices for the coursework component. The division of points and the number of courses differs between programmes and is detailed on each course page. A listing of the elective courses are also found on this page.

Some programmes will allow you to substitute one of the courses for an offering from another programme that carries equivalent credits. if you would like to do this, please speak to the honours coordinator of your primary programme before applying and before registering.

Changes in registration for coursework require the amendment of registration form to be completed, signed by the honours coordinator of your programme, and submitted to the Science Faculty office. This must be done within the first 2 weeks of the term in which the course is being offered.
