ENERGISE brings together leading African and German universities in a collaborative partnership for a Just Energy Transition. The consortium combines complementary expertise in renewable energy, governance, entrepreneurship, research and education to strengthen knowledge exchange and develop solutions for diverse energy contexts.
At Wits, the Centre will connect engineering expertise from the School of Electrical & Information Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment with energy innovation, policy and entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the African Energy Leadership Centre (AELC) at the Wits Business School.
The consortium comprises the University of the Witwatersrand, Technical University of Munich, University of Johannesburg, Tshwane University of Technology and University of Venda, working together through research, education, mobility, innovation and capacity-building activities.
