Study with the Foundation Studies Division

We are a reconstituted division stemming from a merger between two previously independent divisions, namely Foundation Studies and Arts in Education. The core business of the newly founded Foundation Studies (FS) Division is to prepare and support undergraduate students to become highly knowledgeable, well skilled and competent teachers of young children between the ages of approximately 3-9 years. The joint focus of early childhood education (ECE) and arts in education affords us the unique opportunity of deepening and strengthening student teachers’ theoretical understandings of teaching and learning through the use of transformative teaching approaches which are underpinned by the creative arts.
