Foundation Studies Division

The core business of the Foundation Studies (FS) Division is to prepare undergraduate students to become competent teachers of young children between the ages of approximately 3-9 years.

The joint focus of early childhood education (ECE) and arts in education affords the unique opportunity of strengthening student teachers’ theoretical understanding of teaching and learning. This is achieved through the use of transformative teaching approaches, underpinned by the creative arts.

The Division makes vital contributions to the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching)
