Postgraduate Diploma in Property Development and Management (PGDip PDM).

Overview


The Postgraduate Diploma is directed towards applicants with a three year bachelors degree, usually in a non-real estate discipline. Applicants with a BSc in Real Estate can also apply to study for the Postgraduate Diploma. The Postgraduate Diploma should enable applicants to study for an MSc by research.

  • Analyse and evaluate the profitability of alternative real estate investments
  • Assess feasibility of development projects
  • Assess and report opinions of real estate values

  • Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication on the subject
  • Demonstrate understanding of brokerage, property and asset management functions
  • Develop self awareness, interpersonal and group skills

Entry Requirements


  • A Bachelor’s degree in the Built Environment, Engineering, Business, Law and other Social Sciences, and equivalent fields;
  • A B-Tech qualification with a minimum of three years work experience ;
  • A National Diploma, a Bachelor in Humanities and a 65% pass in at least two real estate short courses by Wits Enterprise.
  • Differently qualified applicants with a Bachelors degree or equivalent will be shortlisted for an entrance test
  • A person who in any other manner has satisfied the Senate that s/he is so qualified.
  • International students: Students whose prior degrees were not awarded by a South African university must submit a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluation certificate (Note: this process can take up to three months to finalise).

 

 

University Application Process


  • Applications are handled centrally by the Student Enrolment Centre (SEnC). Once your application is complete in terms of requested documentation, your application will be referred to the relevant School for assessment. Click here to see an overview of the Wits applications process.   • Please apply online. Upload your supporting documents at the time of application, or via the Self Service Portal.
  • Applicants can monitor the progress of their applications via the Self Service Portal.
  • Selections for programmes that have a limited intake but attract a large number of applications may only finalise the application at the end of the application cycle.
