The Cultural Policy and Management Department in the Wits School of Arts (CPM) offers Postgraduate, and Undergraduate electives with industry aligned experiential and decolonised curriculum which is informed by both social pedagogy philosophy of fully acknowledging inherent potential, resourcefulness, and valuable contribution of everyone involved in the teaching and learning process. The Postgraduate programmes are offered at the Honours (coursework), Masters (coursework and dissertation), and PhD levels. While the Undergraduate electives are for 3rd and 4th Years professional degrees offered across the Wits School of the Arts.

Cultural Policy & Management courses aim to develop academic and applied capabilities in cultural policy and arts management for both young and mid-career arts practitioners, academics and thinkers.

Our graduates are prepared for entry into the diverse and exciting world of cultural policy, cultural economy, city making, arts management, cultural leadership and activism, cultural administration and arts marketing. The postgraduate degrees are aimed at both graduating students from the professional degrees as well as at mid-career professionals who wish to consolidate their grasp and practice of the field.
