Quality of Life Survey
Welcome to the participant information page for the GCRO Quality of Life VI (2020/21) Survey!
Every two years, the Gauteng City-Region Observatory (GCRO – a partnership of Wits University and the University of Johannesburg – carries out a ‘Quality of Life’ survey. We ask questions about a very wide range of issues affecting us all, from transport to education to health to social and economic attitudes. The information collected is used to better understand the needs of Gauteng’s residents. This year, we are conducting our sixth survey, and will be interviewing over 13 000 adults (18+) across the Gauteng City-Region. GeoSpace International is conducting the interviews on GCRO’s behalf. All interviews are being conducted in compliance with strict COVID-19 protocols. Download our full brochure here.
Participants are randomly selected from each ward in the province to ensure that the survey provides an accurate image of life in Gauteng. If you are selected to participate, we will invite you to answer a questionnaire that will take approximately 45 minutes of your time. The survey has been approved by the Wits University Research Ethics Committee (non-medical). If you have been selected to participate, you can download our participant information sheet, in the language of your choice:
