Student Leadership

At Wits, student governance is coordinated by the Student Governance Office (SGO), which supports the work of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), sub-councils, and student organisations across the University.

The Health Sciences Student Council (HSSC) brings these councils together and serves as a central platform for collaboration, communication, and advocacy. 

While the OSS does not directly manage student governance, we work closely with student leaders to support their growth, wellbeing, and impact within the faculty. We are committed to supporting ethical, accountable, and inclusive leadership grounded in care, respect, and excellence, while ensuring that student leaders feel supported as they navigate both academic and personal challenges.

The HSSC Festival is an annual event planned by the HSSC and is a valuable opportunity for team engagement, connection, and rejuvenation. Look out for the poster for details on the HSSC social media pages.
