About Centenary Objects: 10 iconic artefacts from the revered collections of the Wits Earth Sciences Cluster will be displayed at Origins Centre.
ONE DAY ONLY!!
The fourth object in the Wits Centenary Objects exhibition is one of the world’s rarest forms of natural gold – gold-bearing quartz. Other varieties of gold, pyrite and gold-bearing conglomerates found in the Witwatersrand gold fields will also be on display. Exhibition funded by Genus and in collaboration with Wits Geoscience.
From 10h00 to 11h00 Professor Richard Viljoen will give a lecture about Witwatersrand gold, mining and geology at Wits. Specimens can be viewed between 11h00 and 16h00.
About Centenary Objects: 10 iconic artefacts from the revered collections of the Wits Earth Sciences Cluster will be display at Origins Centre. 10 objects in 10 months – each on display for 1 exclusive day each month!
