Research to Market - Some examples of research-driven solutions and industry-defined problems.
Dr Surya Raghu obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University and is a Visiting Professor at Wits. His expertise is in research commercialisation - transitioning of ideas, inventions and innovations into commercial products. Dr Raghu has inventions related to aerospace, automotive, consumer and biotechnology applications and has been awarded 15 US patents. He has been a co‐director and/or invited speaker in more than 60 workshops in about 30 countries on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Research Commercialisation and Knowledge/Technology Transfer for Scientists, Engineers, University faculty, technology transfer officials and IP policy committees.
