About Us

The division of Diagnostic Radiology is located within the Department of Radiation Sciences in the School of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand. There are 6 clinical departments based at the CHBA,CMJA, RM.HJ, Thelle Mogoerane and the Klerksdorp – Tshepong hospitals. The clinical services provided include Diagnostic Imaging as well as Interventional Services. The modalities provided range from General X Rays, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT scanning, MRI, Mammography, Bone Density and Intervention.

The staff compliment consists of six clinical head of departments, a total of 34 specialists, 62 registrars 6 (10%) of which are supernumerary registrars. The demographic representation of our division is as follows.
