1. To promote cohesion between clinical units/hospitals comprising the academic platform.
2. To enhance service delivery and patient care, at all levels and within a range of settings, with emphasis on a multidisciplinary/bio-psycho-social approach.
3. To facilitate specialist training with both FCPsych and MMed completion.
4. To facilitate sub specialist training with Certificate/Fellowship completion.
5. To deliver adequate and appropriate undergraduate teaching and training in the discipline.
6. To support staff in achieving their full potential, including obtaining further higher degrees and contributing to key research areas of relevance to South African Psychiatry .
