Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital

(CHBAH) is an academic referral hospital for the South of Johannesburg. The hospital has over 20000 deliveries annually with 4500 admissions annually. This tertiary hospital is a referral centre for Region D and E of Johannesburg.

Regional Hospitals that refer to CHBAH are Thelle Moegerane Hospital, Sebokeng Hospital, Leratong Hospital and District Hospitals, Bheki Mlangeni Hospital and Lenasia South Hospital. MOUs that refer to CHBAH include Itereleng, Chiawelo,  Lillian Ngoyi, Mofolo, Zola, Ennerdale Extension 8 and Stretford Clinic.

There are 185 neonatal beds which include both medical and surgical beds. There are 18 NICU beds, 42 High care beds (TCU), 80 Standard care beds (ward 66), 19 KMC beds and 6 Surgical high care beds.

Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital

(CMJAH) is a tertiary academic referral hospital for Johannesburg. The hospital has over 9000 deliveries annually. There are 110 neonatal beds and over 500 very low birth weight babies are admitted to the unit each year.

Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital

(RMMCH) is an academic referral hospital for the west of Johannesburg. The hospital has over 1600 deliveries annually. There are 70 neonatal beds and over 500 very low birth weight babies are admitted to the unit each year.
