Resilience/ Bouncing back Presentation

This engaging presentation is generally offered in the second semester. It encourages students to take a moment to celebrate achievements and to look at challenges, to reassess strategies, and envision the journey ahead. Furthermore, it enables students to discover new insights into self, planning and evaluating of academic goals. It also seeks to explore a level of self-awareness, knowledge, and to keep students motivated as they navigate the academic journey so that they remain well ahead of the curve!

Depression & Suicidality Presentation

This presentation highlights the genuine experiences and challenges that people encounter when dealing with suicidal thoughts and depressive symptoms. It raises awareness about the mental health resources available to students and how they could access these. It seeks to empower participants to navigate their mental health journey and to reach out for assistance where necessary. The presentation also encourages open discussions within a supportive environment to break down stigma and shame often associated with mental health challenges.

Substance dependency Presentation

This presentation is specifically crafted to actively engage students in understanding substance dependency. It aims to provide them with valuable insights into recognizing the habits associated with substance use and the impact these habits can have on their personal lives and academic performance. Additionally, the presentation will offer practical strategies for addressing these challenges, including guidance on how to seek help and connect with resources available for those who may be struggling with substance-related issues. By fostering awareness and encouraging open dialogue, we hope to empower students to take proactive steps towards healthier life choices and improved well-being.

Adjusting to campus Presentation

This presentation is designed to support students as they transition into their academic journey at the beginning of the year. It aims to help students balance the academic and social challenges of university life, whilst dealing with some of the concerns of living away from home. Key areas include time management, establishing and maintaining social connections, and developing personal responsibility. By addressing these critical aspects, the presentation seeks to equip students with the necessary tools and insights to thrive in their new environment and maximize their overall University experience.

The Last Push Series

This is an exam preparation series which offers sessions during the day and in the evenings, some of which are face-to-face and some online. Our facilitators guide students through various resources relating to exam preparation, time management, study habits, and effective strategies for managing anxiety associated with upcoming exams. As part of their own preparation for the exams, students also have opportunity to share their experiences and discuss coping strategies.
