Lost / Stolen Cards

Lost or stolen cards need to be reported immediately and can be done so via the following options:

  • Online via Kudu Card Self Service - http://kuducard.wits.ac.za/
  • Protection Services at room CB1 (all hours) in the Robert Sobukwe Building.
  • Protection Services at the Wits Medical School.
  • The Kudu Card Centre or Technical Security Solutions Office in Solomon Mahlangu House (during working hours).

To prevent any loss of funds, the Kudu Card will be deactivated immediately and in turn will prevent any unauthorised individuals accessing the campus using your card. Remember to check with Protection Services's Lost and Found division, located in Senate House, in between the Kudu Card Centre and Parking Office, before replacing your lost or stolen card.

NB: Please note that once a new card has been issued no previously issued card can be reactivated.

You will be held responsible for any unauthorised use of the lost or stolen card if not reported immediately.  If you find your card at a later date and a new card has NOT been issued, you can have the card reactivated at the Kudu Card centre, the Technical Security Solutions Office or via Self-Service.

Procedures to follow when replacing a lost or stolen card:

  1. Complete the Declaration of Lost Card Affidavit, which can be obtained at Kudu Card Centre
  2. Take the form to the Commissioner of Oath to be signed and stamped.
  3. Payment for the card should be made at the cashier's office.
  4. The receipt and affidavit should then be presented at the Kudu Card Centre in order for the new card to be issued.

ABUSE OR MISUSE OF YOUR KUDU CARD

If it's determined that your Card has been abused or misused, it will be confiscated immediately and may lead to disciplinary action.
