My research focuses on chronic disease epidemiology, particularly in developing countries.

I welcome inquires from potential doctoral students who are interested in this subject.

D r Wade is a Senior Researcher in the MRC/Wits Rural Public Health and Health Transitions Unit. She also holds honorary Senior Lecturer posts in the School of Public Health and in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Dr. Wade graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2000 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree with honours. After completing her internship in her native Barbados, she attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Medicine. This was followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in the United States, during which time she was one of only three Johns Hopkins School of Medicine house staff to be elected annually to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania in June 2010.
