Walkabout @ WAM: 'Young Nelson: Renewal/ Rejuvenation' by Rainbow Nation Comics

Walkabout and meet creators at the Wits Art  Museum.

Come and meet creators Phemelo and Omphile Dibodu and hear about ‘The Young Nelson, New Beginnings, New Stories, New Heroes Anthology’ comic book project on display.

Their project captures tales of new and young love, and features new friendships and villains with each character serving as a new and modern interpretation of the spirit of Ubuntu and how it can be best practiced in contemporary South Africa.

The exhibition features digital prints, comic books, an animation trailer and original music, and includes also historical material and iconic images of Nelson Mandela from the archives of world-renowned South African photographers: Eli Weinberg, Jurgen Schadeberg and Paul Weinberg.

Entrance is free and no booking is required. Parking for the walkabout is available in the garage beneath the museum.

 Museum hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 – 16:00
