Student Representative Council (SRC)

We are here to serve you

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a statutory structure established in terms of the Higher Education Act. It serves as the official voice of students and represents their interests within the University.

It is committed to advocating for student concerns and priorities across all areas of university life, including academic, financial, residential, sporting, and social matters. We actively promote a balanced student experience that integrates academic excellence with meaningful extra-curricular involvement—embracing everything that defines a Witsie with “the edge”.

The SRC has many sub-committees and councils that assist in facilitating student life, amongst them the Postgraduate Association (PGA) and the International Students Sub-Council (ISSC).

We work tirelessly to ensure that your experience at Wits is positive, inclusive, and fulfilling, and we remain dedicated to serving the student body at all times.
