SCIS, with support from FES, invites you to the launch of “I just want to survive" a research report on food couriers by Prof Edward Webster and Fikile Masikane
The Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS), supported by Friederich Ebert Stiftung, South Africa (FES-SA), recently conducted research on food courier riders in Johannesburg, Nairobi and Accra. The research points to the emergence of a new worker in the digital economy. This new worker is subject to a new business model based on authoritarian algorithmic management. The research report launch will be supported by a photo exhibition by renowned photographer, James Oatway
