The Wits Department of Philosophy hosts the South Africa Annual Philosophy Spring Colloquium.
South Africa Annual Philosophy Spring Colloquium will be hosted by the Wits Department of Philosophy. Keynote speaker will be Myisha Cherry, University of California, Riverside (USA). Send presentation abstracts of 400-500 words by 15 August to Samantha.Vice@wits.ac.za. Student papers should be suitable for presentation in 20 minutes and faculty papers in 40 minutes. Please indicate on your submission if you are a student. Papers on any topic in philosophy from any tradition are welcome.

The annual conference of the International Society for African Philosophy and Studies will be hosted by the Wits Department of Philosophy.
The annual conference of the International Society for African Philosophy and Studies will be hosted by the Wits Department of Philosophy. We invite abstract submissions for papers within all areas of African philosophy and African studies, but particularly encourage submissions that address the themes of:
- racism and xenophobia,
- migration,
- sexual/gender identities,
- education,
- justice and resource distribution,
- politics of inclusion/exclusion,
- tradition and modernity,
- marriage and family.
These themes should be addressed in relation to African philosophy and African studies. To submit an abstract, please email the following two documents to the local conference organisers at conference@isapss.com
- An anonymised 200-300 word abstract.
- A cover page with the author(s) name, institution, and contact email address.
The deadline for submission is 15 November 2019. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by 15 December 2019. Delegates whose abstracts are accepted will be required to pay a registration fee (conference fee & ISAPS membership fee) of US$150. Papers presented at the conference will be invited for submission for a special edition/volume of the conference proceedings, following a process of full peer review. Details will be confirmed later.
