Gender-Based Violence & Femicide panel discussion

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof Mucha Musemwa, invites you to attend a symposium and panel discussion on Gender-based Violence and Femicide.

Gender-based violence and femicide have persisted for far too long, devastating women, girls, families, and communities. Recent tragic cases have underscored the urgent need for collective action.

The Faculty of Humanities is convening a panel on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide and invites the Wits community to attend and participate in this important conversation.

The panel discussion will be opened by Dr Judy Dlamini, Chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand and then moderated by Prof Moletsane, inaugural holder of the FALF-WITS-NRF Research Chair on GBVF.

The discussion will be anchored by Andy Kawa, renowned human rights advocate, social justice leader, and founder of the Kwanele-Enuf Foundation, and will include panellists from diverse academic disciplines.

The symposium seeks to move beyond dialogue toward practical engagement with the structural, social, cultural, and institutional dimensions of GBVF, and to explore pathways to meaningful action.
