Clay workshop: Inside and Outside Containers

Youngsters (between the ages of 9-12) and their caregivers are invited to this tactile workshop.

Excited and curious about what we would 'pack into our bags if we could take home with us', this hands-on workshop will encourage our young participants to design and construct a small clay container. This is a simple, open box with no lid. The magic lies in the storytelling of this little container: what will you pack inside? Your favourite snacks from home? A map or a compass to guide you home? Could you pack your favourite toy? We will fill our little containers with shapes of what “home” can mean to us. The outside of the box will be decorated with textures and shapes inspired by our external world; using fun textures to press into the clay or making unique patterns. This workshop is about going on an adventure as well as exploration.
