This year’s Alumni Week will see the return of the Faculty of Health Sciences Alumni Gala Dinner.

This is the favourite social event of the Faculty of Health Sciences Alumni Week programme which was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the perfect occasion to reunite and rekindle friendships and relationships.

Message from Professor Shabir Madhi, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences:

Fellow alumnus,

I write to invite you to join us in this year of festivities as we continue the Faculty’s tradition of gathering in common purpose and celebrating the excellence of many of our peers. What a fitting occasion it will be to celebrate and pay homage to our alma mater for reaching the milestone of 100 years, the institution where all of our professional and personal journeys began.
 
As the University observes 2022 as its centenary year, September will kick off with a University-wide Alumni Homecoming Weekend followed by the Faculty of Health Sciences’ annual Alumni Week from the 5th to the 10th of September.
 
This year’s programme will feature many exciting activities such as the prestigious “Botlhale Orenstein Memorial Lecture” and the return of the much loved “Alumni Gala Dinner”. There is also an opportunity to engage with some of the University’s most profilic individuals, including a special sit-down breakfast with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Zeblon Vilakazi. I look forward to engaging many of you who will also be presenting your life’s work and interests.
