As Wits celebrates its own Centenary, Venice celebrates its 1600th Anniversary.
The School of Mechanical, Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering; the School of Literature, Language and Media; and Itinerarte RLT, Venice, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute, will host a webinar titled A Resilient City on Water as part of the celebrations. This event will range from the mythological origins of the Serenissima (Most Serene – one of the city’s many names) to the innovative technological solutions for the protection of its historical, artistic, and environmental heritage from the rising acqua alta (high water).
