A small step for Wits Sport, a giant leap for hockey at Wits...

A new era has dawned for hockey at Wits. On Monday 11 March a sod-turning ceremony was staged for the laying of the hockey club's new astroturf. The new, modern hockey playing surface is a joint venture with Helpmekaar Hoerskool, a neighbouring boys' high school. The two institutions entered into a multi-year agreement to fund and use the facility. The new hockey field will be installed at the Wits Education Campus in Partktown.
