Partnerships and Collaborations

Our department emphasises theory and practice. The practical programme coordinators ensure that students are placed in organisations that are linked to their passion, to help them grow and learn during training. They oversee student training with help from field supervisors who are registered social workers with years of experience.

We collaborate with partners in training from different institutions and disciplines. Collaborations include work with the following divisions:

  • Child and family welfare (designated organisations)
  • Diversion programmes (various organisations)
  • Department of Education (various schools)
  • Department of Health (various hospitals)
  • Department of Social Development (various district offices)
  • Drug rehabilitation (various institutions)
  • People with disabilities (organisations for people with physical and mental disabilities)
  • Safe houses for abused women and children (various organisations)
  • Homes for elderly people (various institutions)
  • Children's homes (various homes)

Affiliated Assocations

As we offer professional qualifications, we are guided by and adhere to the social work profession council and other affiliations that promote the quality of service we provide.
