Nesengani Elelwani Clinton is a skills research intern with much interest in sustainability transition, green skills, local economic development, global change, and workplace learning. He has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with honours from the University of Limpopo. After obtaining his honours degree in Agricultural Economics, he joined the DFAS Centre as a research assistant. He worked at the Centre for several months before deciding to further his studies in sustainability, global change, and local development. In 2021, he joined the Centre for Researching Education and Labour as a Research Assistant. Currently, he is completing his master's at the University of the Witwatersrand in the Centre for Researching Education and Labour in both coursework and research report. His research focuses on the issue of food waste in the context of the sustainability transition.

Hakelo Chauke is a research intern at Wits REAL Centre. Hakelo holds a BSc in life and environmental sciences and BSc Honours in Botany from the University of Johannesburg. She is currently an MSc in Botany student at the University of Johannesburg. Before joining Wits REAL, she worked as an environmental education and awareness intern at Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural  Development. She also worked as a microbiology laboratory demonstrator at the University of Johannesburg Department of Botany and Plant Biotechnology. Her research interest includes sustainable development and sustainability, climate change, Skills for just transitions, food security, greening, and equality.

Nemabaka Rofulufhela Caroline is a research intern at Wits Real. She has experience working with different community Non-governmental organisations as a community development practitioner, facilitating the project development process, identifying community issues, planning and implementing integrated and transformative social development programs for the effective empowerment of human and social capital through a community development approach towards sustainable livelihoods.  Caroline has Honours in Community Development and completed her BA degree from the University of Johannesburg. She is a current Masters student in Community Development at the University of Johannesburg. Her Masters's research focuses on an Afrocentric perspective of the influence of culture on mental health in Pimville, Soweto. Her research interest is on how labour market inequalities affect education system and youth transitioning into work.

Ashley Pontsho Gwangwa is a research intern at Wits REAL. She successfully completed a BCom in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg. She also holds an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Johannesburg. Prior to joining Wits REAL, she worked for the Gauteng Department of Economic Development as an intern for Modelling and Forecasting. Going forward she intends to study for MCom in economics so as to broaden her perspective and understanding of how regulations and policies can be used to deal with socioeconomic issues such as poverty, inequality, and unemployment. She is an upcoming economist and hopes to take part in the formulation of policies that regulates how businesses should operate within the country.

Hope Sikhosana is a research intern at the Centre for Researching Education and Labour( REAL). She holds a B. Social work degree, awarded by the University of the Witwatersrand. She is currently completing her Master’s degree at Wits University. Her study looks at female girls in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) perceptions towards STEM careers. Her research interests are gender inequalities in education and the labour market, women's economic empowerment, and women's access to higher education. She has previously worked for an NPO named National Institute Community Development and Management ( NICDAM) as a mentor where she facilitated an Intensive economic strengthening program. The program aimed at economically empowering females from disadvantaged communities.
