Post-Doctoral Fellows

Dr Motswedi Anderson completed her PhD entitled “Prevalence and molecular characterization of hepatitis B virus infection in Botswana” in 2018. Her research interests are in viral hepatitis and HIV. She recently joined the HVDRU team in 2020. The aims of the work that will be conducted at University of Witwatersrand, HVDRU are-to determine the replication, transcription and translation competency of HBV strains with OBI-associated mutations isolated from HIV-infected individuals from Botswana, to determine the ability of HBV strains with OBI-associated mutations in HIV-infected individuals in Botswana to be detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits.
