Entry Requirements


  • An advanced diploma in any built environment related discipline such as Architectural studies,
  • Construction studies, Civil engineering, Property, Building, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management OR,
  • A Bachelors or BTech degree in any built environment related discipline such as Architectural studies, Construction studies, Civil engineering, Property, Building, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management,
  • Differently Qualified Applicants who fall outside of the normal admission requirements who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university that they have a qualification or experiential or work based learning which has taken the learner to an equivalent level of qualification specified above may be considered for admission and/or for the recognition of prior accredited and/or prior experiential learning,
  • A person other than a graduate who has in any other manner satisfied the Senate that s/he is so qualified.

  • Applications are handled centrally by the Student Enrolment Centre (SEnC). Once your application is complete in terms of requested documentation, your application will be referred to the relevant School for assessment. Click here to see an overview of the Wits applications process.

  • Applicants can monitor the progress of their applications via the Self Service Portal.
  • Selections for programmes that have a limited intake but attract a large number of applications may only finalise the application at the end of the application cycle.
