Karmini Pillay has undertaken research for Save the Children (Sweden), Thandanani Children's Foundation, the African AIDS Vaccine Programme, the African Child Policy Forum, UNICEF, Project 25 for the South African Law Reform Commission and the Annual Survey. She is a co-author of the Children and The Law Manual for Lawyers for Human Rights (2005) and has published in the field of Media Law focussing on the constitutional underpinnings of the right to freedom of expression and hate speech.
