OR Tambo Debate Series

In 2014, WSG in association with the Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation, launched the OR Tambo Debate Series with the purpose being to consider the interaction between the vision as stated in the National Development Plan and its institutionalised operation. The purpose of the debates is to shift entrenched positions, break frames and enable new perspectives and implementation solutions to emerge.

The launch of the debate series took place on 24 July 2014. The theme of this debate was “How to Implement the National Development Plan”.  The following two debates were supported by a new partner, the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP), providing a broader international perspective and policy advice.

The second debate of the series was themed “Exploring Labour Market and Social Protection as Part of an Inclusive Growth Strategy”. The last debate in 2014 had the theme “International Relations and Economic Diplomacy = Inclusive Regional Growth?”.
