Enrolment in the postgraduate programmes offered by Wits Speech Pathology and Audiology include Masters Degrees and PhDs. Only applicants who are registered with the of Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Speech-Language Therapist and/or Audiologist will be considered.
Applications for the MA (Speech Pathology), and MA (Audiology) by coursework degrees usually close in August of the year prior to commencement of study, but applicants are encouraged to check with SENc because the dates do vary from year to year. MA Speech Pathology or MA Audiology by Dissertation
Students are expected to produce a dissertation on a topic in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. At the discretion of the Discipline, they might be expected to complete a research design course.
Wits Speech Pathology and Audiology offers supervision for PhDs. Applicants should hold a recognised MA degree, and might be asked to register with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Speech-Language Therapist and/or Audiologist. There are a number of PhD candidates in the Discipline which offers an active PhD forum.
