Biomechanics Laboratory

The research conducted in the biomechanics laboratory is focused around three different themes all of which explore the interaction between physiology and biomechanics (specifically human movement).

1. Sports performance

Current studies investigate the role of biomechanics and physiology in rugby, cricket, ballet, equestrian and golf performance.

2. Clinical research

Current studies are exploring spinal hyperexcitability using biomechanical and physiological methods and the clinical assessment of the Babinski reflex.

3. Pure (non-applied) biomechanics

Current studies are investigating the measurement of the human centre of mass.
