AJIC Approach to Open Access
AJIC pursues its open access objective by publishing online under a Creative Commons licence and by not imposing article processing charges (APCs) on its contributors.
AJIC issues published between 2006 and 2013 (Issues 7 to 13) carry the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 South Africa (CC BY-SA 2.5 ZA) licence. All other AJIC outputs are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
AJIC's open access approach corresponds to the objectives of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Open Access Statement and the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities. (For more information on open access publishing, go to Wits LibGuide: Open Access, Access to Knowledge and Scholarly Communication: Introduction.)
AJIC's articles are archived and indexed by the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) SA open access archive, the Sabinet open access archive, and the Wits University WIReDSpace open access institutional repository.
