A Journal of the History of Medicine
Looking for a fascinating read that arrives on your doorstep?
The Adler Museum Bulletin publishes papers in the field of historical research in medicine and allied health sciences. While many of the authors are qualified in the field of health sciences, it is a medical journal with a difference and can be enjoyed by health professionals, scholars, researchers and general readers interested in the subject area.
The articles usually cover the history of medicine and allied disciplines, historical figures, and a series on Wits alumni, recording the immense contribution that the Faculty of Health Sciences and this Medical School has made, through its graduates and alumni, locally and internationally.
The Bulletin was started in 1975 by Mrs Rose Meltzer who produced the first edition single-handedly and she continued to edit it until her retirement in 1991 and was editorial consultant until her death in 1992. It is currently edited by Professor JCA (Tony) Davies MB BS (London) and the Museum?s Curator, Rochelle Keene BA(Hons)(Witwatersrand).
Contributors are invited to submit articles not previously published and illustrations (which will be printed in black and white) are welcomed. Please see Instructions to Authors for more details.
The Adler Museum Bulletin is circulated worldwide, including to prestigious institutions such as the Institute of the History of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University and the British Museum.
