Wits alumni and friends are the University’s most loyal supporters and continue to make a significant contribution to maintaining our vision of building lives, transforming the nation and advancing the African continent.

Below are many ways in which individuals can contribute to our sustained success now and in the future.

Legacy Giving

Legacy Giving

Wits has been shaped today by the lasting impact of bequests both large and small.

There are many reasons for leaving a bequest.

  • A Bequest allows you to plan a future gift that will live on.
  • A Bequest allows you to honor a loved one while showing your support for the University.
  • A Bequest allows you to support your passion or interests.

The Development and Fundraising Office can assist with identifying areas for your bequest and advise you of the exact wording to ensure it is utilized in line with your wishes. Should you wish to discuss Bequests, please Ms Justine Dangor on 011 717 9713 or Justine.Dangor@wits.ac.za

Wits Annual Fund

The Wits Annual Fund is a discretionary endowment fund, established to ensure that current and future generations of Witsies will have access to the same excellence in infrastructure, teaching, research and accessibility that past Witsies have enjoyed. Class Gifts

Reunion years are an opportunity for members of a graduated class to make a collective gift over and above regular monthly or annual gifts.

The Wits Medical School class of 1966 reunited in Johannesburg for their 50th anniversary. The reunion took place from 1 - 3 February 2016 and combined a fundraising dinner, talks and tours. To date this class has raised over R500 000 for the Fund. To find out more about making a class gift, please contact us.
