"SITA looked beyond where I came from and helped me regardless of my citizenship"
2015 was a difficult year for Makhosazana Moyo. The economic crisis in Zimbabwe made it difficult for her parents to provide for her needs in South Africa. She felt that, with the lack of finances, it meant that she would have to consider dropping out of University, regardless of her good grades. However, this situation changed as a result of SITA funding.
Having been awarded SITA funding to allow Makhosanzana to continue her studies has relieved pressure on herself and her parents. Talking about her future goals, Makhosazana maintains, “I wish to succeed in my career, and inspire children from dis-advantaged backgrounds that they can also achieve their dreams. I want to be a philanthropist so that I can show the same kindness to others that SITA Foundation showed to me. There are no words to describe my gratitude.
