DESCRIPTION:The Wits Law conference is a gathering of law academics, practitioners and alumni. The Wits School of Law is pleased to announce the next iteration of the Wits Law conference. Wits Law 2026 will take place on 28 and 29 October 2026. This biennial gathering of academics, practitioners, and alumni aims to connect the Law School with the world beyond.
This year's conference features a diverse array of panels - ranging from the use of technology in tax collection, compliance and administration, to a panel on medically-assisted dying in South Africa.
We're also pleased to announce that Judge Stuart Wilson will be delivering a keynote address in the early evening of 28 October. The conference will be held at the Chalsty Centre at the School of Law.
We warmly invite you to attend any or all of the panels. Be sure, however, to register by Friday, 23 October. Registration costs R500 per day, and a discounted fee of R300 is available for students.
