DESCRIPTION: The Wits Faculty of Health Sciences hosts the 17th Prestigious Research Lecture to be delivered by Professor Maryna Steyn and Dr Candice Hansmeyer. This lecture will highlight the dilemma of human identification in a forensic setting, with particular focus on the vast numbers of unidentified decedents and missing persons in South Africa. Professor Steyn is Head of the School of Anatomical Sciences at Wits University and Dr Hansmeyer is a forensic pathologist at Wits.
