Who we work with
The centre actively encourages and relies on its working relationships. We identify, initiate and respond to joint project opportunities with universities, like minded organisations and institutions, and mining companies. We work with:
Colleagues across Wits
Most of the university’s schools have expertise on aspects of the mining sector that affect sustainability performance. We collaborate with colleagues working in public health, migration, law and policy, business, governance, sociology, plant sciences, geology, water management, landscape design, climate change, and with Wits’ Centre for Mechanised Mining Systems (MMS) and the School of Mining Engineering.
Like minded institutions
We actively seek exchanges and to share our experience and perspectives with other African universities and centres of excellence across the globe.
All mining sector stakeholders
We work with industry, government, organised labour and affected mining communities in the major mining regions of South Africa, and increasingly more widely with other African countries.
