Overview

The courses offered cover various aspects of environmental sciences, including conservation of biodiversity, mining and the environment, water resource management, environmental management, energy conservation, climate change and mitigation, environmental impact assessments as well as remote sensing and GIS. These courses are spread over three faculties: Science, Engineering & the Built Environment and Commerce, Law & Management.

Masters by coursework and research report:

  • A Bachelor of Science with Honours from Wits or another university
  • A graduate of this or another university who holds a degree in another faculty whose curriculum has ordinarily extended over not less than four academic years of full-time study.

A BSc Honours or BSc Eng or equivalent four year degree. Acceptance into certain courses may be restricted to applicants with relevant undergraduate course credits.
