Wiedaad is a specialist paediatric physiotherapist with 20 years of experience working in the field of child health and development, including disability, locally and internationally. She is a senior lecturer in the Division of Community Paediatrics and is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the health sciences and is the academic course coordinator for the MSc in Child Health (Community Paediatrics) and the Master of Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) programmes. Wiedaad also serves on a number of faculty and departmental committees.
She is an active researcher and her range of research and academic interests include early child development, childhood disability, child health and health systems strengthening, as well as health science education.Wiedaad serves on a number of technical working groups and steering committees for child health and development and has been involved in the development and review of a number of national and provincial policies and programmes.
