The Wits Aerobics Club, which also includes Strength and Fitness, is by far the most popular (recreational) club on
campus with a total membership of 3 552 members in 2011. This number looks to increase in 2012 and Sports
Admin has put in measures to accommodate all staff and students.
The university has 3 gymnasiums situated on the West Campus (New Squash Complex), East Campus (Old Mutual Sports Hall) and the Wits Education Campus (Parktown). These gyms are accessible by registered members Mondays – Fridays, 07h00 – 21h00 and Saturdays 08h00 – 13h00.
The Aerobics Club also offers various aerobics classes throughout the week such as step, kata box, circuit, body conditioning and taebo, to mention but a few. Each class is designed for a certain level of experience and taught by a certified instructor with a specialty area related to their particular class.
Classes are conducted in the Aerobics studio, New Squash Complex (top floor) situated on West Campus. If you are on the Wits Education Campus (Parktown), classes are Mondays to Fridays, 17h00-18h00.
